Le Grand Galibier is the name given to the mountain the Col du Galibier climbs. When the Tour de France visits it is the best seat in the house. From up here on this, the grandest of stages can be seen the entire drama of Le Tour being played out across this mountaintop arena. We waited all day like pilgrims for the Tour in the wind and rain and cold, when it finally arrived it brought with it the sun.
